SSMAT’s Teaching and Learning Consultant, Gary Mulvey, is a secondary trained science teacher and worked previously as an Advanced Skills Teacher, supporting the development of teaching and learning in both primary and secondary schools around Staffordshire. In order to deepen his primary schools experience, Gary has been doing some team-teaching in Highfields Primary School and teaching in a variety of year groups in St. James’ Primary School. Next year, he’s going to work even more as part of the team at St. James’. If you want to learn new skills and make a contribution in a school, you have to understand the context and, most importantly, the people (young people and bigger people!).
